SOUP / SEEDS / SOCIAL
October 5th, 2009SATURDAY 10th OCTOBER @ ABBEY GARDENS, BAKER’S ROW, LONDON E15, 12-4pm, free, refreshments provided

The bountiful What Will the Harvest Be? continues to ripen…especially with this weeks good news of a successful Big Lottery Fund bid for 2010!
Join artists Karen Guthrie & Nina Pope, garden club leader Chris Cavalier and the Friends of Abbey Gardens for our final event of the season.
We will be harvesting and distributing yet more fresh veg; enjoying soup made from our own produce and gathering ripe seeds for next year from some of the plants on site.
Guests from green initiatives across London are invited to attend and join the “speed seed swap networking” – this way we hope everyone can make some new green friends and learn about what is happening across the capital. If you would like to suggest a group or project to invite please email us.
We’re also fortunate to be joined by Bob Cowie (senior archaeologist for the Abbey Gardens excavations) & Kathy Taylor (Heritage Community Learning & Outreach Officer for Newham), for a lively run through the history of Abbey Gardens and the unique archaeology of the site and surrounding area.
