We would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting which will be held on Saturday 3 October 2009 at 11am in the Salvation Army Hall, Paul Street, Newham E15.

As you know we have had a tremendously busy year which has also been very successful. As a constituted group we are oblidged to have an AGM once a year which gives us an opportunity to discuss our achievements, ongoing projects, structure of the group, finances and future development. The AGM is open to everyone and we really would like to hear your opinions about the garden.

At this stage we also would like to increase the number of our core members. As the garden continues to grow we will need more members who can get actively involved and help with various tasks, however small. If you would like to become more involved please come to AGM or send us an e-mail if you can’t make it.

You may have noticed that AGM will take place during Saturday garden club session. We may need to leave the garden unattended while we go to the Salvation Army for the AGM. We will endeavour to keep the meeting short and factual and then return to the garden for some more informal discussion and – of course – work.

AGM Agenda:

- Welcome and introduction
- Summary / minutes from the last annual general meeting
- Summary of progress in 2009, definition of stake holders
- Evaluation of main events
- Finances, funding
- Planning for 2010 (gardening sessions, planting schemes, events)
- Structure of the Friends Group, new appointments
- Q&A, any other business

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our What Will The Harvest Festival Be? event. For those who couldn’t make it you missed a lovely sunny day and some fantastic food cooked by Sam Clark of Moro using plot to pot vegetables! A big thanks to Moro and to everyone who helped out on the day. We were also awarded the “Newham Council West Ham Ward Challenge Trophy” for the best community group in the area which we’re very chuffed about.

There are lots of great photos on the Flickr group here:

Lastly we’d like to invite everyone who’s been involved with the garden to contribute comments on our now growing section of the website, where we’re recording all this years progress. Most of the plants are now logged in; so if you grew something, watered something, harvested something or just ate something – let us know by commenting on the plants. This is the place to put handy tips for good growing or useful recipes to use up produce etc. If you have photos or additional basic information on any of your plants you’d like to see added please email these to chris@whatwilltheharvestbe.com – otherwise just comment away!
