From Abbey Gardens to Zimbabwe

Two or three times a year the local Zimbabwean community organises a communal container shipment from the UK to Afrika. A large container arrives on site early in the morning and throughout the day people drop off their goods. It is always has a festival atmosphere with lots of people taking over the street chatting and loading. Packing finished after the sun had set.
Its one of those activities that are likely to be replaced by the new station and the development of Abbey House. A real pity – it would be nice if the garden could become the venue for this but that might be a bit optimistic.
