Welcome to Abbey Gardens, a community garden in West Ham
surrounding part of the ruins of a
12th century abbey.

There are free garden club sessions and new gardeners are always welcome. The garden is open to visitors from dawn till dusk.

An active Summer at Abbey Gardens

It’s all go at the garden… this Saturday we’ve gathered-in the garlic harvest, done the big move of the compost, raked up a lot of grass clippings, lifted potatoes, picked lettuce and broccoli… and even our monthly meeting got active when Charlie rounded it off with a demonstration of his new potting technique.

Saturday 14 July – Card-making workshop, using pressed flowers from Abbey Gardens to make cards for the honesty stall. 4pm, after the garden club session

Saturday and Sunday 21 + 22 July – Come and see us at the Mayor’s Newham Show!

Saturday 8 September – we’re taking part in NGS Gardens Open for Charity from 10am – 5pm
