Welcome to Abbey Gardens, a community garden in West Ham
surrounding part of the ruins of a
12th century abbey.

There are free garden club sessions and new gardeners are always welcome. The garden is open to visitors from dawn till dusk.

A little chance meeting

Gordon and Louise from the West Ham Alltoment Society organised a walk across the area. Nina joint and kindly detoured them to Bakers Row. While at Abbey Gardens we ran into Dean who owns the flower shop outside Stratford Station and is looking for a site to have a stable and 10 Horses. He has been keeping a keen eye on the site and just moved in up the road. Also joining the walk was Lucy Harrison who is working on an arts commission for Platform for Art and is in the mids of putting a local newspaper together as well as Chris from the Newham Striders.
