A Food Growing Summit to Celebrate British Food Fortnight

When: Thursday 2nd October 10am - 12.30pm (lunch provided)
Where: East Thames, 29-35 West Ham Lane, Stratford, E15 4PH.

Why Food Growing?
Growing your own fruit and vegetables is not only a sources of affordable healthy food but also can improve mental health, physical health and gets people together - promoting social inclusion. At the moment there are lots of opportunities to start new projects and get people involved in growing their own food.

Why Action Planning ?
The Newham Food Access Partnership invites you to our first food growing summit to realise the possibilities and benefits for food growing in Newham.
With a focus on action we are looking for people who are interested in developing or delivering practical projects.
The event will enable you to find out what is already happening in /outside the borough, but the focus is to share ideas and look at how we can take things forward.
After some inspiring presentations (full programme to follow) there will be breakout sessions to help us explore initial ideas and project outlines, identify challenges and give us practical actions that we can all take forward as a result, along with valuable networking. (If you have an idea for a project it would be helpful if you can contact me in advance).

Who is attending?
Attendees are from a broad spectrum of sectors including health, local government, education, community members and voluntary organisation s as well as individuals wanting to make things happen. There will also be some speakers from other projects.
